i've heard that hugh abernethy was scratched from pios event 5 before his quater-final game against jamie jones because he hadn't resigned his wsa membership from two seasons ago. i know when players are relegated from the main tour they have two choices- firstly to stay a member and play in the world championships only and secondly- to resign membership, revert back to amateur status and try to qualify back on to the main tour via the pios or national governing bodies. can anyone throw any additional light on hugh's situation?
