Why does it matter how fast someone plays? There are no prizes for speed.

Speed doesn't matter but I can honestly say I would play worse if I was slower, that might upset the purists but it is just the style I have developed. I have to go on instinct and if it feels "right" then I find the shot is lined up for me,hard to explain really.
Blondie - I don't play a match very often but I have been embarrassed when playing quick as people say I'm rushing so I play a bit slower.

same here jedicho, i am a very fast fluent player, if i stop and think about it to much i tend to make more mistakes and loose positioning.

Glad it's not just me then craigslater, some people say I don't even line up the shot which really gets to me - I may not physically be perfectly lined up but in my head I know how to hit the ball for the desired result.I'm a very average player but just wanted to point out how it is possible to play in such a way.
