Exactly. Which is why we agreed on 3 misses then carry on. It encorages the player to try and reminds him before playing in a league game or such to get the rule clarified.
Actually it should be penalty points. His opponent could go in off, or foul a ball with his sleeve, etc. He doesn't necessarily have to get his opponent snookered to gain the necessary points.
