  • BCE Tables - Warped or WOT!

    Hi
Advice needed - XMAS2006 Bought a BCE 5 foot snooker table for the bairn - put it in the loft - habitable room.
Not sure if it was slightly warped when put in or developed one in the cold winter to hot summer months - anyway brought it down into the living room - the warp was apparent as we were playing more.
So xmas sales 2007 we saw a nice BCE 'traditional looking' 6 foot snooker table - with levellers on each leg - posh or wot? - well we couldnt resist it.
Set it up in the living room - taking no chances eh?
Sadly after awhile playing we noticed if we played down either of the two sides it acted like a chanel - so i get out a level - never BUT yes this table is 'bowed' down its full length. We played a couple of month to see if it would settle in - unfortunately not - its definitely got a 'bow'
Needless to say the bairn is disappointed epecially as he paid with his xmas money
The retailer will replace it BUT not the same type - he no longe has stock BUT he offered our money back or a replacement with a BCE 6 foot folding legs table.
BUT we kinda like the look of this table - it looks the real McCoy.
Can anyone offer any advice on what to do with this table to correct it or should we return it and cut our losses

    regards

Get your dollars back while you can and look for another one, unless it was such a bargain that you won't find anything else.

I assume it has a chipboard base which will always change shape and tend to sag over its frame. A possible solution would be to remove the frame and fix a sheet of block board under the bed, then re-fix the frame. Chances are though that the frame will be glued and stapled. It would weigh a tonne anyway.

BCE seem to have problems getting their 12' tournament tables straight so what can you say?
