I think they have tryed things round robin etc etc formats and showing footage of this that and the other between frames...it used to just be funny moments/clips to a bit of music which for me was much better.
    That's it: Doubles tournament.....

Ronnie and Reardon 'v' Higgins and Higgins
Hendry and Taylor 'v' Maguire and Mountjoy
Selby and Thorne 'v' Murphy and Virgo

Oh, i don't know the choice is endless

There's only one downside to this.........

The tournament will have to run without Joe Davis, Bill Werbinuick, Cliff Wilson, Paul Hunter etc etc

Bring on the 'Hoffmeister in association with TSF - Past and Present Doubles Championship'

The match is played but viewers vote for the most entertaining pairing for bonus points
    Highest Break

    Match: 134 (2006)
    In 2011: 94

It doesn't change the fact that in order to keep a pro tour of this size, something needs to be done.

Ice skating has seen life breathed into it through the Celebrity Falling Over On ice Skates format and dancing has seen massive increase in numbers following Strictly Come Dancing. I enjoyed the Sport Relief snooker variation where Pro and Celebrity alternated shots. Could a longer run of that breathe some life into snooker I wonder?

Good idea Rambon. I'm going to the Dancing on Ice Tour and it's on at all the major Arenas with about 30 dates, some of them sold out. People will watch anything with 'celebrities' involved and I think those of them that play snooker would be queuing up to play with one of the professionals. It would make really good tv.:snooker:

Thought it was worth looking back on this thread started in April 08 especially in light of recent events & with Barry Hearn looking in...shows how long we've been wanting changes & alot of points we raised back then.

I maybe should say sorry in advance to Barry because although i did say he was the man for the job back then, i also said i'm not a fan of his.........lol

But it doesn't matter as all will be forgotten if he helps to get our great game back to where it should be......

that's not how advertising works. Seeing an advert won't make you go out and buy the product, but they are hoping to ingrain their brand into your conciousness so when/if you do decide to buy it you'll remember them and choose their brand.
