i noticed earlier there were a couple of threads refering to the quality of the top 16. Think I am right in saying thus far only two unseeded players have made it through to the second round? Is this a record? Wondering what the most number of unseeded players to make it to the 2nd round was and the least?

No, so far 4 qualifiers have toppled the so called ""elite" - with Doherty dead in the water at 7-2 down.
Things are looking bad for the games "greats"... -
of that 'elite' you have a pushing-40 Hendry, a 50-year-old Davis and Ken Doherty who would likely have been pretty long odds for even making the final.
