Looked to be a real rising star but struggling to get to venues now. He lost his Dad I think. Does anyone know how is getting on? Hope he gets back in the 16 at some point as he has the talent.

He is getting on well, although perhaps likes to be on the town during tournaments which isnt the best place to be. he can normally be seen at venues with his mum and both are great fun people. has obviously been strugling for a bit but i hope he picks it up again soon as he is a cracking charactor and a good player.

I've known David since he had to use a box to stand on to reach the table, he and my sons grew up together playing at the Royal Surrey Snooker Club in Morden, and played in many of the amateur and pro qualifying competitions together. As a family we lost touch with him when we moved from London to Southampton in the early 90's. You're right about him losing his Dad, but he had even more trajedy followed when he lost his uncle the very next week. David's known nothing other than snooker for almost all his life, so maybe this last year could be considered as a 'gap year' for him and he'll come back with a renewed desire to play the game. He was taken out of school and had a private tutor from a very young age and at that time his parents changed house so that they could get a room large enough for him to have a full size table in; from there he attended just about every pro-am all round the country that there was. Pat (his mother) used to take him and still does because I don't think he can drive. David, if you're a member of this forum or read this, Dan, Jim and myself send you all good wishes and hope both you and your mum are well, and that your form returns in the coming season !www.cuemaker.co.uk
