  • Clive Everton talks rubbish.

I used to rate Clive as a commentator but he talks a lot of rubbish about O'Sullivan. Yesterday he likened O'Sullivan to Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. How can you compare a loser with those winners? It is simply absurd. Even if a miracle occurs and O'Sullivan beats Carter that is 3 world tiltes in 16 attempts. It is hardly the stuff of a legend is it? Clive needs to take a reality check.

naturally gifted? shame with all that natural talent it taken years to win 2 worlds.

i think the term NATURAL talent is a bad description.

hes has superb ability. natural? what like he just picked up the cue and doesnt need to think about it or practise? its a stupid phrase IMO

I thought it was Steve Davis in the studio who likened O Sullivan to Woods and Federer? Maybe i missed Clive saying the same thing

I think Woods and Hendry is a better comparison.

Ronnie is an amazing talent, and in my opinion a huge favourite to win today and add more World Titles to his CV. You can't compare him to guys like Federer or Woods in some senses, but in others you can.

If you compared every player in the history of cue sports on their best day ROS would be up there with the best of them, on his day he makes the sport look so easy as it's always said.

Guys like Federer, Woods, Roy Keane, Alan Shearer had the great mental strength to 'play' at an extremely high level over a very long period of time and that's what makes them legends.

Natural talent is not a stupid phrase. It means you can become great at something with less effort than most other people. I could practice the same as ROS and would not come close to his standard as he has natural ability. It's the same with other sportsmen and women.e.g. Woods. Musicians e.g. Mozart. Playwrights e.g. Shakespeare
