Then for the next match it updates and you start to build a player performance, head to head records etc.
For me personally, I would like to see graphs showing my improvement or not for the stats over time.

So, you would need a local database on the PC for the user just for personal stats and an online one to update (if they wanted to) to show their online profile.
For the record I would just like to say that MySnookerStats.Com provides all of these features to its members for all uploaded matches. Your stats remain completely private unless you choose to share them with groups or the world. It is also completely optional whether you upload any matches you record and save on your phone.

I will soon be blogging a demonstration of the head to head records which are kept. High breaks, top clearances, record in respotted blacks, shot time, pot success, positional success, safety success, break power ie average number of frames between breaks over 20, 30, 40, 50 etc.

Try out the free demonstration app on your phone. It is so much easier to use than you would think.

Does it have unlimited undo or reset of frame score if an error is made?

You can undo the last 50 shots - more than enough if you start assigning a break to the wrong player!

At any point if you have gone wrong, there is a score correct feature which allows you to change the current score of either player and to add or remove reds from the table -- this last feature is useful if you fail to record when a red is lost from the table during a foul.

Are you counting reds? What if there have been 16 or more reds in play?

And sometimes you need to allow for 6 and 10 red matches.

The game assumes 15 reds. You can score correct to support the 6 red format, but that's still not very common. I might add it as a settings option on entry if the requests come flooding in!

I've never played a game with more than 15 reds though, except once when I went to the loo while my mate set them up -- he put 21 reds up as a joke and broke off, potting 3 of them off the break. Daft, that!

A couple of instances is when there is a free ball and when a red has been respotted instead of a brown/colour by mistake (it happens and the rules allow for it if not discovered before the next stroke/disturbance of the ball).

                Good point.

Free balls are handled by recording a "foul and free ball", at which point the app allows you to press the value of the nominated colour if the free ball option is taken. This same approach works when no reds remain on the table and a free colour is available instead.

Following a refereeing error (obviously uncommon) such as the one you highlight, the score correct feature will resolve the issue very simply as far as the app is concerned. I've still never seen this happen, only hearing of it in reference to a hypothetical way to get a break of 163!

All of this counting allows the app to police the frame state accurately and helps to ensure you really are recording the shots you intend. The only other slight funny is potting multiple reds in one shot, but you simply press the 1 key for every red that is potted, and the break board reflects the balls potted in the current break.

                  Andy,
Cheers, but I did not want a mobile phone App. Just one that runs on my little Netbook with XP!
I'll still check it out though.

                  Ballstream,
Look forward to the final edits, send me a PM here or on Oceania Cue Sports forum once its ready so I can download.
I've got to find my username and password again though! I see my test is still up vs Ronnie O'Sullivan
if you want something done right, do it yourself!

You can use the "send password" function from the login page.

Btw the online version hasn't been updated for stats yet, but it should make next year's results interesting, especially if everyone adopts the new software and uploads to the online database.
