Our's is underway already, finishes end of April.

Since '94, 1 team has won the Premier title 12 times on the bounce... the only difference in Club name engraving is that they've moved around a few times, and they've even moved again for this season too. (Hawaiian night for us on Monday; so the boys are happy especially the new Captain; I broke one of the match table's high break too)

Maybe I'll start a thread showing how everyone's doing; if there's enough of us, or I can appoint a deputy!

We should have started our league matches last week, but one of the teams had to pull out as some of the players forgot to mention that they were leaving the club/didn't want to play any more .

We had our first official match last night against coventry deaf club. It was such an eerie thing to be in a room THAT quiet with no opponents audibly talking !!

We had a good start going 3-1 up, but fell on bad times ending in a 5-5 draw. Not bad !

Do all your league matches have roughly the same format ?
We've got five members in the team each week and each playing 2 frames so its 10 frames per match.

This is my third season with the Coventry district league and even though we're only a lowly Div 5 team, we'll get close to the top if all our players can play consistently at the same time :-)

Hi Ian, good to have you around - deaf school eh, you should mention the site to them at the return match; reminds me of good old Joe Swail - congenitally.

Formats? There's a few around the country; in the 4 Leagues I've played in, it's varied from 6 players x1 frame each, 5 players 1x each and in the latest it's 4 snooker and a billiard frame. A mate played in Cambridge and a game of doulbes was played last which I think is a good idea, especially if there are doubles competitions in your League Knockout Competitions.

I'd prefer your format of 2 frames in a night; much better chance to play your best: assume you have to play your frames one after the other against the same person?

Having said that, when the top 6 players in our League join together to play in the County squad, we play 2 frames each; so you can have a draw in your matches? We choose a player to have a 1 frame decider.

As for Leagues, we've got 3; Prem, 1 and 2 with the highest break anything from 68 to 99; our billiard guy's got the highest in the League so far; 45 which helped win the match before last 3-2 - his best billiard break of his life, and he's about 60 odd!
