I am a big fan of Mastercue Thailand.

I play a custom made one piece, like the pyragon.(sh!thot cue)
I was fortunate enough to visit Mastercue in Bangkok, they have a nice snookerclub with the workshop upstairs.

As for their cues, it is the only allround cue manufacturer that I know of.
I like the fact that every single cue wether its 60 quid cue or a 260 quid cue, are all oil finished 3/4 and come with a butt extension joint.

I think Mastercue has been very clever in basing their marketing on players preference, which other mass producers choose to neglect in their lower range cue series.

At the end of the day, no matter who you buy from, you get what you pay for and Mastercue is no exception. But I would recommend any beginner to to stick Mastercue on the top of their list for the reasons mentioned above.

I also think that craftsman cues from Leeds has a very nice and affordable range of cues.

Over the years Ive used many different cues Ive had Parris , Will Hunt , Old B&W cues plus plenty more , but got to be honest I have never been as happy with a cue as what I am with this one , the only shame is I didnt get it 20 years ago !!

I use a Mastercue but to be honest when i bought it I didn't really know much about snooker cues. I only chose Mastercue because of reviews and opinions on the internet. Am happy with the feel and quality of my cue.

I have read alot of reviews commenting on how good the quality of Mastercues are but the only cues i can compare mines to are machine spliced Powerglides and machine spliced BCE cues costing around £50. Obviously the quality is better than those cheaper cues but i don't know how good it is compared to other +£100 hand spliced cues. Are Parris cues alot better in comparison? Is it just that the shaft is alot smoother?

To be totally honest there are a lot of good cue makers around today , Parris have a great rep not only making great cues but they have done the business promoting their cues over the last 20 odd years, they have done the job that well that just about everyone thinks Parris cues are the best money can buy.

Anyone buying a Mastercue can be happy in the knowledge that they have a top quality cue at a price most people can afford .

I use a Parris Traditional, had it 9 years ago and it has aged beautifully and for me is the cue I play most consistantly with. Bought it mainly through reputation but also at the time there wasn't the choice around as there is today, also didn't have the Internet back then so there wasn't any sites to talk about cue choice.

I have tried nearly every cue make around, including Craftsman, Mastercraft, Mastercue, B&W, Peradon etc etc and IMO they all make good quality cues for any level of player but it is so important that if you are looking for a new cue to try it out first if you can. What I will say about Parris is, I've never seen a bad one, I've seen and tried out a few others and they all have a great feel to them.

I use a North West cue, made by a guy called Kevin Muncaster. He makes and repaires cues. He is based in a village called Freckleton, near Blackpool. The cue I had made was one of his first models, and all the cues he makes are unique. I recently went back to see him so he could modify my cue. I spent about £50 getting a mini-butt socket with a 7" mini butt, and telescopic extension. Far better that what I was doing before, rather like Matthew Stevens, taking off the butt every time I wanted to use an extension. So much trouble. I got to the stage where I wouldn't use the extension because I couldn't be bothered to put it on. Now I can play certian shots with the mini butt which would have otherwise required the rest, coz I hate the rest!!!

Yep, he's the fella, I've heard he's a good cue maker and repairer. Shame he hasn't got a website or advertises his services, I'm sure he would get a lot more business if he did.

Yes thats right. To prove it you only have to look at the main tour, and Ian McCulloch is the only pro I can think of who uses a North West Cue.
