Off cause a silly question, but how far shall the white ball be away from the object ball to be called a long ball, when television calculates long ball potting succesrate ?

For the purposes of the BBC statistics John Virgo (or is it Dennis Taylor? I can't remember) often says that a long pot is defined as 'six feet or more between cueball and object ball'. Distance between object ball and pocket apparently doesn't come into it.
Personally I don't think that makes much sense, but (if you believe Virgo/Taylor), that's what it is. Granted, it's quite hard to come up with such a simple definition that's any better.Comment

cheater I had it in my mind! so I´m quite right with half the length of the table but I always thought both ways can be called long pot 
. Anyway, as long as the ball is potted by the right person I´m happy

Depends how im playin,
If im playing well anything over the 6 feet mark is long.
If am playing poor then anything over 12 inches is long.

It generally depends on how much beer the player has quaffed. For Bill Werbernuik every shot was a long pot.Hey, why's it say 'member' under my name? Are the mods calling me a penis or something!!?
