Table lighting

One of my team mates and myself are at a disagreement.

He thinks that yellow light bulbs are better.

I say that white lights (if they are energy saving then even better) are more natural as there is not so much glare and is closer to daylight.

What is your opinion? Which do you use and/or prefer?

I know the pro tables use white fluorescent lights, but I am referring to a standard club table.

this crops up in bideford liberal club every so often on our table...normally when a couple of our players are playing badly and are looking for something to blame, and in the absence of the pope or natural disasters it normally comes down to the lighting.....I think it depends a lot on the state of your own personal eyesight, I have normally no preference but no most people reckon minimum of 100w normal lightbulbs...Only problem with the energy bulbs it takes a few minutes for them to reach maximum strength, and a few people I have known with lens, glasses etc sometimes find them a struggle

you alluded david to the flourescent lighting on TV tables, first timeI played with that lighting it was a wierd sensation...they had them on the match table down at century in newton abbot....it is just like paying in your front room, and takes a lot of getting used to compared to the dark environment of your local club.........

Did any of the pro's, ex-pros etc like gloveman and matt wilson find that????
