What is the correct diameter of the balls for a full size table? 2 1/16"?

What size pool balls for use on a full size snooker table? 2 1/4"?

    Cheers

    Dave.

Hi Dave, for a snooker table (fullsize 12FT ) 2-1/16" balls & snooker pockets should measure 3-1/2" accross.

as for pool balls, 2-1/4" can be used, but why would you want pool balls on a snooker table anyway? unless it is for praticing the effects of side on the balls? anyway i hope this helps.
    don't miss!

Funnily enough, the current Rules for snooker, which are now done in metric, state that the diameter is 52.5mm within an overall tolerance of +/- 0.05mm. This is the equivalent of the old, imperial, 2 1/16 inches.

But, in fact a ball with a diameter of exactly 2 1/16 inches - dead on according to the imperial measurements - is actually a minuscule amount (0.125mm if you're asking) below the minimum metric tolerance.

          Cheers guys.

Kevy, I would buy pool balls to give my sons a bit of variation whilst having a play.

          Dave.

            Very well spotted Statman!

It is just another problem with the Snooker Rules today, especially after the new "Revised" 2008 rules.

            It's only my opinion though!
