  • Gravity Cue

Does anyone have any experiece of playing with a gravity cue, ie is it a gimmick or does it really help in cueing straighter, the theory of it sounds plausible, I play with 3 quarter cue at the moment 17oz, but hear that the gravity cues are generally made 1 piece with mini butt 9.75 mm and 19oz

I have never hit a ball with a gravity cue but have held a few of them. I have seen a lot of people on the internet slagging them off saying that they are a gimmick.

Personally i think its a good idea. From holding one it doesn't stop you turning your wrist on the shot, it just gives you feedback when you do turn your wrist. I guess the idea is over time you will stop turning your wrist.

The added wieght is only minimal but it is very obvious when holding the cue. The gravity cues that i have held have all been on the heavy side, nothing mega heavy but if you like a light cue then it's a big step up. I cant really comment on what they are like to play with regularly though. Probably best to try and find one and have a go with it

Thanks, I guess any advantage is a help even if 2%, in theory it appears ok, I believe they range in price from £175, £250, £350 depending on wood type. I know team mate who has just paid £500 hand made 3 piece John Parris (inc average case)

It's the 'snatching' and 'cueing accross' the ball that could do with eliminating, but that can happen with any cue

Dont think theres a cue to help with that unforunately, just old fashioned practice.

        Good luck
