Maguire, blatently and then Selby. Ding is still not quite there yet following "the incident". Day is third favourite but I don't see Robertson or Allen ever winning the World Championship. Other contenders, I think, who have the gut to win it are:
- Stevens (he's still got it in him and I think his form is coming back to how it should be)
- Marco Fu (he's been there before, having reached the quater-finals and semi-finals of the WC, and knows what's it's like coming back at an In-form Ebdon 7 frames in a row to eventually be defeated 17-16, which in itself was a really great match to watch).
- Liang Wenbo (He's reached this years quater-finals on his debut only to be beaten by Joe Swail but I believe he does have what it takes in time when his game improves on his safety. He's capable of whitewashing the most competent players and has demonstrated it).
Carter, I think jinxed himself after his comments on Bahrain and I don't see Perry making it.Last edited by JiangYu; 23 November 2008, 04:09 PM.只讓我們相戀 這一季的秋天, 飄落後才發現 這幸福的碎片。要我怎麼撿。

i think Robbo is turning a corner now, i suspect he'll be a contender this year and will be champ at some point.
I don't think Maguire has the bottle.
Other possible options not listed are Carter, Cope, Perry and Stevens.Fantasy Game Overall Winner 09/10 - World Championship 2009 Fantasy Game Winner - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Overall Winner 09/10 - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Runner-Up 08/09 - UK Championship 2010 Prediction Contest Winner - Rileys @ Chorlton Pool Team Merit Winner 07/08, 09/10:snooker:

i honestly dont think Ding Junhui has the atention span capable of keeping himself interested to win the world championship yet...
Ding in a 4 sesion match ????? havent seen much evidence in a 3 sesion match yet.....
16 sesion to win the Worlds is like winning 3 Grand Prix.... lets just say the jury is out on Ding....
my vote goes for Mark Selby he has great consentration and in his first World Final the effort it took to come back against Higgins in 2007 shows he is capable of winning it someday soon...

Well basically to win the world championship you've got to be able to win titles and you've got to be able to win four session matches, so I guess that makes Mark Selby the best placed out of the top 16 as the only one who has done both. However I still rate Maguire as the better player, and if he ever gets back to the standard he produced at the 2004 UK he should walk it.

If it is in the next couple of years then I fancy Maguire, if not probably Selby as he's a little younger.
As good as Ryan Day has been recently, I just don't see him as a world champion, not unless he improves on his tactical play anyway. If he can do that though then he can score as good as anyone so you never know.
Ding...could do, but he needs to win another big event first I think, to give himself the belief that he can do it again. He's still young though so I'd not rule him out.
Don't fancy the likes of Stevens/Fu to do it, think Stevens has had his chance while Fu probably did as well in 2006.
Mark Allen I see as a future champion, but he's still a bit raw at the moment.sigpic

my point with maguire is that i dont think he can. in 04 he wasn't established and the prssure was off. since he's been expected to produce he has flattered to deceiveFantasy Game Overall Winner 09/10 - World Championship 2009 Fantasy Game Winner - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Overall Winner 09/10 - Seasonlong Prediction Contest Runner-Up 08/09 - UK Championship 2010 Prediction Contest Winner - Rileys @ Chorlton Pool Team Merit Winner 07/08, 09/10:snooker:
