He has a great ringing name as well, "Luca Brecel".

There is a vid on Youtube with him nearly doing a max in practice but he misses a very difficult final black on 140.

Possible, but Ding became top 16 by falling asleep on his chair and by speaking anything but English. So there is still some hope for Luca.

I was wondering that too. Soft c, stress on first syllable would be my guess.

The closer I can think of is "Luka Bressel". However that "u" is pronounced like the flamish or french "u" or german "ü" for those who know these languages. It has no equivalent in english... it's neither like in Luke, nor like in luck. Sorry I can't explain better.

Close enough. So the "u" in "Luca" is pronounced like in the word "München", and the "cel" in "Brecel" is pronounced like in the word "pencil"?

Spot on regarding the "u". "Brecel" is more like "pencel" (if that existed) than "pencil" ...
