a nasty snooker in anyone's book, but one that came up in a League game less than a month ago at 2-2 and the deciding frame in the fixture; why does it always happen like this!? My opponent was about 34 behind so a safe escape was essential. The balls are in their approximate position as shown; just hardly any natural angle to play with.

The simple question is how would you escape from this position?

By way of some guidance, I used 2 cushions but no side or swerve..... if only it was a cash prize! .... on 0901 326 ... etc!

..... oh and I potted the red too.

    go for it quizzeees!

Did u hit it off the bottom left cushion around the blue bouncing of the bottom cushion with enough power to slice it in the bottom right corner or something like that!

The baulk cushion then the green cushion(GREEN- just to identify which cushion). you hit the red sliced it into the black top pocket(as shown) then stopped somewhere near the yellow again???? right?

frayed knot - no angle available with the middle pocket in the way and the blue blocks it too... thinking caps back on.

              uhour survey says.. uh uh.

I think the angle for that would be much further up the table towards baulk, maybe even above the middle pocket anyway.

never said this was easy, but it's a type of shot that a few of us have played in the past.

I'll have a go then. I can't see whether the angle's quite on, but maybe yellow cushion first, come through between brown and pink, then off the other side cushion, squeak past the blue and hit the red full ball ish to pot it in the black pocket.

no full bashing that way Rob, nice thought; Rocket Ranen's right too, only 2 "cushions" used.

Suppose the speech marks are a clue; not an easy one - but summat to work on.

Use the top left pocket as pictured. Hit the left jaw first, then the right jaw, the white ball will come off the pocket at the perfect angle to pot the red ball.

Unfortunately my work hours options do not permit me to view the diagram, but I'll hazard a guess that he played off a jaw, the cue-ball jumped onto the cushion rail and returned to the table further along, hitting the red.
