Thanks for getting this BOT, Paul. I don't think I've ever seen a thread hijacked quite so quickly before

Anyway. I can't think what tournament it was. My mind keeps pulling up Joe Perry, but I rather like him and he's far too placid a character to react the way I described.

I'll have a look through the rankings somwhere - see if a name jumps out.

      Anthony Hamilton?

I remember he did not shake Ding's hand after the 147 in the Masters.

        Indeed, disgraceful behaviour.

I was thinking of Higginson (but hes not arrogant) but checked, did not play anyone of them. Barry Pinches? He looks more boring than arrogant.

I can see him now, on the left hand side of the two-table split, goading the crowd after his win against one of the big names. Smarmy is another word I'd use to describe him and just couldn't take to him. If it helps with the ident, I can say that I don't think I've not seen him around for a while. Anyone any idea who I'm talking about?
ok so it was ian mcculloch. I cant remember the incidents you refer to, but i would imagine his "goading" was done with humour. Hes an extrovert or 'character' rather than arrogant IMO.

Not a quiz. Just utter relief!

Bare in mind, dannyd0g, that these were my very early impressions of the man and his goading was done after beating Jimmy White. I did warm to him slightly a few tournament on.

I can second that as when a match finished early at the World Championship a few years back he came out and done a few trick shots etc. Had a nice way about him and and was charming and witty!

I said to him one year about the Burberry and he said "don't knock it, I got a lot of money for that" so fair play
