  • How to become WORLD CHAMPION?

I wanna know what I have to do that I become the best player!!

    How often MUST I practice........??

    Any world champ here?!

I guess you have to practise a lot and still it is not guarunteed to make you the best.

The easier way is to knock off everyone who plays better than you.

The only problem though is that if someone else gets the same bright idea you would be the first in line.

no disrespect but if you have to ask on a forum how you became world champion then you have no chance at all.

A snookerplayer in Sweden told me that when you have reached about 10 000 hours of practise time, you will be a pro. But if you don't become a pro after 10 000 hours training, then snooker is not your game.

At 20 hrs a week, that would take you 500 weeks. Thats almost 10 yrs !

Well you will need plenty of bottle, good temperament. Sound technique, sufficient levels of concentration, stamina, and to be totally dedicated to putting in plenty of hard practise should help you on your quest!

              Thank you! good advise...

@spike: what do you mean with 'good temperament'? such as try and try it again?!

to the post which meant "if I were so good I shouldnt ask" maybe there are any other ways as I thought, but there isnt... potting the balls as much practice as I can afford and things will work...

I saw an interview with Ronnie O´Sullivan (after the Hammn exhibition) where he was asked if he still practised 60 hours a week. He answered "No, now it´s only app. 20 hours".

ANd there you can easily see that it's a big part of practise and mental health!!!! That talent what you need, I think I've got it cuz I won some other tournaments cuzed by my calmness and the knowledge "how works my technique"... and when I practise I can see "its gettin better" but this with club cues luckily my custom made cue comes this months )

Yeah, he said something about 20 hours a week. 500 weeks (10 years), man! that is a long period of time but of course it is different from player to player (of course) didn't Judd Trump smashed his first 147 when he was 15? Or was it Ronnie? I can't beleive that he has been playing since he was five! 20 hours a week for a kid (5-12) that's too much I think Well, natural talent is of course a big factor too! and luck!
