  • has this ever been done before???

hi,playing a friend in our local club i broke off normally with the white ending up tight on the baulk cushion behind the brown, but a red had gone in the corner pocket i then rolled in the brown and cleaned the table winning the frame without the other player even coming to the table

I don't think is has happened in a professional tournament. Can't imagine that. But I'm not sure that you tell the truth, though. It sounds to good to be true.

Quinten Hann has been known to smash the reds on his opening shot, not sure if he ever made a clearance from this break though?
After 15 reds and 15 blacks i did this http://youtu.be/DupuczMS2o4

Here is a quote from Winning Snooker with Eddie Charlton explaining his 272 running break after he potted a red off the break in 2 frames and cleared the table both times.

The 272 at snooker came, when I was on tour playing for the Royal N.S.W Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, at the Kempsey-Crescent Head Country Club, N.S.W. I had to play two opponents a game of snooker each. I broke the balls in the first frame, made a red into the centre pocket, and cleared the table for a break of 137. My new opponent came to the table, the referee re-racked the balls and I potted a red into the same pocket and clear the table again a second time for a break of 135, making a world record running break of 272. Neither opponent had a shot.
So here is your answer! Yes it has been done before

i found this on the snooker.org site in the records section

"In April 2002 the New Zealand No2, amateur Harry Haenga, father of national champion Daniel Haenga, scored a 147 off the break against Glenn Gemmel at the Porirua Club, near Wellington, New Zealand. This was not in a tournament but was witnesses by two A Grade players, one of whom is a NZ representative and the other is a Referee."

                      The legend

Roger Garrett achieved a 140 total clearance of his break off shot in the semi final of a pro-am at ilford in 1992
