    Few observations from me;
    - your stance looks incredibly uncomfortable and forced
    - the 3rd image when your fist points down at the floor (you have the 90 degree angle) is what you should aim for on address
    - your right foot appears to be miles behind the left which may be why your head is 6" or so above your cue.

The drop of the elbow isn't necessary, I naturally do it when playing stun run throughs but I wouldn't advocate trying to learn it if it doesn't come naturally.

Cheers Tom, it was my first attempt at improving my stance having used my natural stance for 35 years (mainly pool), so yeah it was forced alright. As long as I can consistently deliver a straight cue and be comfortable I don't mind how I stand. I'm 6, 4 so that is part of the equation. I'm going to keep playing around until I'm happy, cheers for the input, appreciated. :snooker:

I think Kyren Wilson is around your height? In one of Barry’s videos featuring Kyren he points out that because of his height he actually bends both legs.... which shows even top pros are all different! Ronnie has a more traditional left leg forward stance and I remember watching Robertson at the Champ of Champs final, he has a very wide stance, again probably because he is tall!

          Hi Jim

Hope I didn't come across harshly, definitely wasn't my intention.
I have a friend in the league who's a similar height, he actually made the pro circuit many moons ago and plays with both knees bent. I don't think that's an issue with somebody of your height especially when it'll help you get lower on the shot.

Steve mentions in the previous comment he notices Robertson has a wide stance, again that's true and is due to his height (for me he has the best cue action in the game as well).

No, not at all. Constructive comments are great, I'm a big boy I can take it. :snooker:

Almost all the very best players (Davis, Hendry, O'Sullivan to name 3) over the past 40 years are between 180 and 188cm, apart from Mr Jimmy White and as we know he didn't top the world, much to my deep sadness over and over again

Jimmy is 173cm according to Google, but then again so is John Higgins.

Trump is the same as Ronnie at 183cm, read into that what you will.

Bottom line, at my height I was never going to be a multiple world champion :sorrow:

Reardon 183cm, same as Ronnie and Trump - there appears to be a golden slot for the height of a snooker player...

Makes logical sense really, tables are always the same height (with minor tolerances) so there'll be a height range that's going to be more suited to playing. I'm calling for HIGHER TABLES FOR THE LANKY!!

That makes him 6ft 1, I find that hard to believe.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Yeah unless he's had a growth spurt that's incorrect, I was stood talking to him only last year and he was smaller than me, i'm 5'11ish

That’s what I thought..! Not according to Eurosport website, 1.85cm they say I was shocked too. I thought maybe his ‘proportions’ where making him look smaller! Lol

Many years ago I used to go to another social club that had a long room with two tables, the one to the right as you entered most people did not like playing because the floor was on a sloop, the baulk end was very low and the black end was very high, I never measured it but it was disconcerting when walking around the table either dropping to your knees or cracking your chin on the slate!
