Start out with an equilateral triangle and partition it first into 4 smaller equilateral triangles and then add three more straight lines (preferably equidistant) from one of the apex(/ic)es to the opposite base. triangles.GIF
Now count all possible triangles in the resulting figure.

Can't see any more, think I might've miscounted last night (or counted some 4/5 sided triangles). My bid stands at 35 then, I'll repost that attachment after a bit of snooker (brother's calling) if no one wants to advance on that.
