Well, I am normally not intervening on this one, but what a cleverclogs you all are! If I have some time on my hand (to busy with other affairs ) I try and solve one as well.

ps. I will delete this post later as I dont want to disturb all your artworks on here.

ok, mine eventually was this here:
    701000120
    160011002
    026110010
    202510010
    011351000
    011035001
    100000433
    000103241
    010101404

We have to use coloured balls adding up to 99 points, meaning that those can be arranged in a minimum of 9 lines X 11 points each. Thus the smallest possible square is one of 9x9=81 balls.
As we have 43 value balls, we need 38 white 'fillers', therefore we are in for 201-38=163 bananas...

    Closing R247

Congratulations to abextra, Snookersfun and D_G who all have proposed a "to specifiactions" design to Barry along with 163 bananas! Well done!

Special prize to Abextra for coming with an original idea ... and 183 bananas ...
Please everyone put your solutions on the thread ... possibily with an explanation why 163 bananas is the maximum Barry can get following his initial specs

and that means we could have a new battleship

    R.254: either this or that...

same as usual, just two clue options for each line, so you have to choose the correct clue. Have fun

    found the smiley 240 answer:
    R293.3-10.bmp

so, we only need Monique's modern art for 242

Round 247 - I bid 183 bananas (not sure this arrangement works... anyway, I take the risk for dear Gordon ) PM's on the way...

    Round 253 - haven't found more than 280

Rounds 248, 249 and 250 sent off as well.

And here's solution for Round 243 (it seems I have lost the pic for Round 240... and I didn't even dare to touch this hexagon... )

It is high time to close the remaining battleships...
If I recall well, Abextra and Monique solved 240 and Monique 242 and 243.

So, please put your solutions up here; or anybody else could, should he/she have them on the back burner

    R249 and 250 were sent ...
I may be a mathematician but apparantly I can't add properly. So my highest break for R253 is only 276
2 more days to beat Snookersfun before "the Boss" is back ...

Round 253 - Another Big Ape Break Bonanza

... identical to round 251, except that now potting a colour into a pocket of the same colour as the ball scores double points AND a penalty of 5 points (so potting pink into pink pocket would score 2x6 -5 = 7 points - that's double points for the pink but then 5 points deducted).

Bids as always on the thread please.
OK, starting out at 276 now...
