Here's a snooker teaser for you all to ponder over:

Before we start, thanks to Nic Barrow for telling me this. Nic, you're not allowed to answer as you know!

I made a break of 17 and I took 4 blacks. How did I do it?

You made 3 reds with 3 blacks and fouled the black ball into a pocket while attempting the 4th red?

    =o)

bongo do you mean "took" in the "biblical sense"?

Take a black as a red for a free ball, then the black, then red black, so thats 16, then a red followed by a black with a foul.

          Correct! Well done RGC.

Bad luck noel! You said three blacks, that would be 24, not 17!

Note that in the post I said 'took' 4 blacks. On the last black, I didn't pot it because I fouled, even though the black went in, a pot is only a pot if it's legal (no foul).

          "7. Pot
A pot is when an object ball, after contact with another ball and without any infringement of these Rules, enters a pocket. Causing a ball to be potted is known as potting."
