    Is the answer Jimmy White?

Is it most semi-final appearances at the Crucible? Hendry & Davis have both had 11 semi-finals and Jimmy has had 10.

    Round 186

I didn't realise Dennis Taylor won so heavily in the rounds up to the Semi-Final in 1985.

    ROUND 186

How about this then for the next round.....

    J1 Davis, S
    J1 Hendry
    3 ???
    4 O'Sullivan
    5 Higgins, J
    6 Parrott
    7 Griffiths

Davis and Hendry come out joint top. Who is third on this list and how have they been ranked this time???

Interesting how Parrott won a greater percentage of frames that he played in 1992 (67.3%) than in the year when he won the title (1991: 64.81%).

Just to be complete - I have averaged any player to win more than once. Ronnie and Dennis Taylor come out joint first - both winning exactly 2/3 rds of the frames they played in the year(s) they won the tournament.

Here is the list of crucible champions according to percentage of frames won. In the case of a player winning more than once the highest win percentage is listed.

Chasmni probably deserves half a point also as well as DG?! Is that okay.

    Edit - M.Williams in 2000 deleted....so now 17 unique winners....

Should have been a bit clearer here -

I was after the 6th AND 17th ranked players by percentage of frames won - I think you might be correct Chasmni if you were saying the Griffiths would be last on the list.

However looking at the stats I have, I make him 16th....

DG your first thought is correct - so have half a point - its just how you deal with players that have won the title more than once that is important.

If anyone can name the 6th and lowest ranked player that would be good for another half point.
