I have been updating my list of pairs of opposite snooker players. I have to update it, as it changes over time.

For example, Joe Swail's opposite last year was different from his opposite 3 years previously. The last opposite of Steve Davis was Neal Foulds. Who had been Steve Davis's opposite previously?

If only it had been 104 frames!! We would be sitting here talking about Jimmy White - 6 time world champion as possibly the greatest player of all time!

He would be ahead of Steve Davis on 5 and Stephen Hendry on just 3!!

(Admittedly that is a big, if not massive, if only, but one can daydream!)

104 frames? So, perhaps two wins and four 18-17 defeats? Marvellous!

... and imagine if Hugh Abernathy were on that list with 234 frames? We would be sitting here talking about Hugh Abernathy - 13 time world champion as the greatest player of all time!
