I can throw some names around and try to eliminate from there:
In Statman's stats I found the following to 1 wins against:
85: Barry West (can't find anything about him though)
88: Dennis Taylor (was too young)
    84: Alex Higgins (too young)
    85: Reardon (too old)
    85: O'Kane (too young)
    91: Bond (too young)
    92: Robidoux (too young)
    88: Steve James???

just leave the question, somebody will get there, no worry

Still not even one guess... so I'll see if I can organise a poll. Please vote your replies:

    (A) "Get rid of the question. It's rubbish!"
    (B) "Wait... I'm still thinking. I just think very sloooooowly."
    (C) "davis_greatest, you can guess the answer yourself!"

As still no responses after 5½ hours - a hint: the bit about the son should make this question easier, not harder!

By the way, in just two rounds, Monique has gone from being off the table to right at the top of the bottom half!

    ROUND ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-NINE

Which snooker player used to begin his routine with the following line? "Don't call us Irish stupid. We invented a comfortable toilet seat until, 200 years later, some stupid Englishman went and put a hole in it!"

then after the break-off Ding potted 10 reds+blue (60 points), missed the next pot and Davis cleared (40 reds+black +27 colours)
Congratulations Monique! And welcome to the scoreboard!

When my apes entered the arena, halfway during frame 9, Davis already led 8 frames to nil, and was 80-0 up in points, having potted the first 10 reds with blacks. The black was safe, but Ding played on for some desperately-needed potting practice.

So, Ding potted 5 reds with blues, and yellow to pink; to lose frame 9 by the score of 50-80.

Frame 10: Davis broke off, and then Ding potted 10 reds with blues, to lead 60-0.

My apes then left the arena, mid-frame, and never saw Davis come back to the table and make a 67 clearance to complete the whitewash.

Ahhhhh!!!!! Well, the 36 shots mentioned were continuous (my apes did not leave and re-enter the arena) - but go on!

“Well,” piped up Charlie. “Ding wasn’t too bad. We saw him pot 15 reds, all with blues, and the first five colours (yellow to pink)!”
