    • ROUND ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-SIX

Fred breaks off and leaves a shot on. Billy, being in a confident mood strolls up to the table and knocks in a long red followed by a pink. He then takes the next 6 reds with blacks before missing the 8th red.

Fred is shaken by this dazzling display of wonderful shot making but still manages to hold his nerve and knock in the loose red. He Takes a black and then pots the next 6 reds each with a black.

There is one red left and its up at the baulk end, He manages to get it but can only get position for a baulk colour. He pots the colour and then successfully knock in the next three balls before agonisingly missing the next.

Billy's mood lifts as a brief glimmer of hope surfaces. He then knocks in the next two balls cleanly. Oh dear, his head is in his hands the frame is over.

Why? What was the final score?

Really hope I got that right.

Let's try one of those missing letters/anagram puzzles:

The first person finding the word that I had in mind will get a full point.

Dont i deserve an extra point since i was the first person?
I think its only fair i should have 1½ points lol

The frame was over because he potted the pink when he needed a snooker and he had left just the black on the table????

Perhaps missing making any contact with the red, thus giving away 4 points.

              Perhaps the brown.

...which could now be blue and pink.

Billy now 66-74 behind - so 8 points behind with only black left and he has lost the frame.

Might he have potted more than one red in a single stroke?

Does "get" it mean hit it or pot it?

Final score is 59-70 or 59-69 or 59-68 depending on baulk colour as above. Billy is between 9 and 11 behind with only black left.

How does that square with "He then takes the next 6 reds with blacks"?

After potting the pink the cue ball comes touching the black. Billy cannot pot it, he must move away and leaves a nice easy shot for Fred who pots it. so 66-77 (or 76 or 75)

Really hope I got that right.
