This one was a bit tricky. To the best of my memory (which isnt very great) I can't recall any father and son who have played snooker to such a high standard. Some nephews, like Silvino Francisco-Peter Francisco and Horace Lindrum-Walter Lindrum, but no fathers-sons.

Congratulations Mitsuko. 32 is the answer I was looking for. A vomitorium is an frontwards exit from the stage, by which the cast can leave. Relatively few theatres are built with one, and the Crucible is one such theatre. During a performance an actor can exit backstage via the wings, or frontwards if the script warrants it.
During the World Championships the vomitoria are blocked off, and that is where the players' seats are installed.
The Crucible being the only snooker-circuit venue that possesses vomitoria, the answer is 32.
So here is the updated scoreboard after round 95:

Going by the strict definiton of the word now!
Well, first we have the top 16. They are always at the final stages.
Then we have the players 16-32. They are always in it at the UK champ and Welsh Open.
Then we have players 32-96. They are always in it at the UK champ and Welsh Open provided they can qualify to the last 48.
So the answer has got to be 32+16 = 48.
But then we see that some players 32-96 played in the UK and some others played in the Welsh. So it's got to be more than 48, somewhere around 55 sounds reasonable to me.
And then we have the wildcards as well, not sure if you mean to include them but they were 8 at the China Open and 2 at the Malta Cup, so then it's 55+10 = 65. Approx.
