New names for the scoreboard are particularly welcome, especially those lower in the alphabet than mine!

Would that help you? Wouldn't any right answer go ahead of you anyway???

Is the solution to my ethical dilemma to use hidden text, so others can have a go but I still get the point?

    ( a) 1998, b) 2000, c) 1998 )

It would be cheating, absolutely. Wouldn't be at all unethical to tell me whether I'm close though.

Seriously, I never know whether it's considered ok to look these things up. I don't have the almanac (yet) but snooker.org is often a possibility. Should it all be from memory?

    ROUND THIRTY-ONE

    Concerning the Crucible:

    a) In which year was the youngest average age of all the players? (i.e. add up all the players' ages, and divide by the number of them)

    b) In which year was the combined age of the two finalists the lowest?

    c) In which year was the combined age of the four semi-finalists the lowest?

The answer to two of these questions is the same year. First correct answer to all three in the same post will win.

New names for the scoreboard are particularly welcome, especially those lower in the alphabet than mine!

    ROUND THIRTY

Name two players who have reached the Crucible at least eight times – note the word reached – I am not counting years in which a player gained automatic entry, he must have qualified eight times.
