  • as far as I know he's always been called Neil Robertson (from the day he was born in 1982, when he was a toddler in 1985, and still today in 2010)

CORRECT! Why did that not catch anybody out? Well done for reading the question correctly, that is the first thing you must do when taking part in a quiz!

Yes, I think it is a matter of the last player to do this.

In that case, it must have been a while since Higgins lost his first round, hasn't he won all his first round matches in ranking events for about 2 seasons, or perhaps more?

The first part is trying to work out what the question actually means, which we have done, now we only need to work out the answer!

                      • ROUND THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY EIGHT

Given the currrent rankings who is likely to play in the 1,000th match at the Crucible this season? (Assume as well match order is same as last time!)

                        Comment

                        • i think we had 990 matches at the crucible (77-79: 15, 80-81: 23, 82-10: 31)
so we are looking for the tenth match 2011.
2010 the match started tenth was mark king vs. steve davis. mark king was seeded #16.
provisonal #16 at cut off 3 2010-11 at the moment is peter ebdon, if john higgins will be suspended it would be liang wenbo.
i think higgins should be allowed to play, so my answer is:

                          peter ebdon vs. qualifier

EDIT: Ryan Day instead of Peter Ebdon. Ebdon played and won at PTC 3 and passed Ryan Day, who won in the morning...
