    2) 14th August 1991
    3) Steve Davis and Allison Fisher
    4) Stephen Hendry and Stacey Hillyard

      • Alright mates, I didn't guess the dates would be such a problem for you and I don't want to be considered as a barbarian. How we want to deal with it?
In what case one gets a half point?
        Some offers:
        1. chasmmi gets 1 point
        2. chasmmi gets a half point
        3. if chasmmi calls the german town she gets 1 point
        4. anything other (?)
I don't want to decide about it alone. Old hands, please answer.

            • I'd have thought give Chassmi the whole point, (surely only 1 point available per question?) irrespective of whether "It" gets the answer fully right. "It" did well

              • I would say lets finish this topic.
chasmmi, as the only one who knew anything about this event you get the fully point. Congratulations!

                • Round 156:

Ok, a little bit of snooker rules. Have fun!

                  1. A player has potted a red, and on the next shot plays for a red, and pots it too. What is the outcome?
                  2. A player attempts to pot a red which is next to the pink. The white ball strikes both at the same time and the red is potted. What is the outcome?
                  3. A player pots a red and then the white continues rolling on into another red, and knocks it into a pocket too. What is the outcome?
                  4. In the action of playing a shot, a player accidently hits the light fixture above the table with his cue, and the light falls on the table scattering the balls. What is the outcome?
                  5. With only the last 7 colours remaining, player A has fouled and left player B snookered on the yellow. So he nominates the blue as a free ball. After potting the blue, the white rolls into the yellow and knocks it in too. What is the outcome?
                  6. What is the highest number of points that can theoretically be scored in a single shot?
                  7. Just the final black ball remains to be potted (worth 7 points), and Player A who is 4 points ahead attempts it. However, his aim is off and he misses hitting the black completely - a 7 points foul. What would be expected to happen next?
                  8. At the start of a game, Player A attempts to strike the edge of the pack of reds, and misses them all completely, awarding 4 points to Player B. What would be expected to happen next?
                  9. A player attempts to pot a red into the corner, but strikes it quite hard, and it jumps out of the jaws of the pocket, runs along the wooden edge of the table and drops into the middle pocket. What is the outcome?
                  10. What is the highest possible break in snooker? That is, the score for one sequence of successful pots to clear the table in one visit?

                    1. A player has potted a red, and on the next shot plays for a red, and pots it too. What is the outcome?

Foul 7 points to his opponent

                    2. A player attempts to pot a red which is next to the pink. The white ball strikes both at the same time and the red is potted. What is the outcome?

Foul Shot 6 Points to his opponent

                    3. A player pots a red and then the white continues rolling on into another red, and knocks it into a pocket too. What is the outcome?

                    2 Points to that player

                    4. In the action of playing a shot, a player accidently hits the light fixture above the table with his cue, and the light falls on the table scattering the balls. What is the outcome?

hard one this i would say besides a load of glass on the table it would be a foul and a miss and the referee would have to replace the balls as good as he could or his opponet plays the next shot himself from where the balls are or puts his opponent back, or if the table is that bad throught he light falling on the referee would try to replace all balls in the original position after the table is cleaned or use a spare table if one is free and if it happens at qualifiers where no cameras or spare screen scorers are god help us this would be a referees nightmare I think

                    5. With only the last 7 colours remaining, player A has fouled and left player B snookered on the yellow. So he nominates the blue as a free ball. After potting the blue, the white rolls into the yellow and knocks it in too. What is the outcome?

2 points you can't score double points from a free ball

                    6. What is the highest number of points that can theoretically be scored in a single shot?
16 points you pot all 15 reds and the free ball nominated ball can't see it happening though

                    7. Just the final black ball remains to be potted (worth 7 points), and Player A who is 4 points ahead attempts it. However, his aim is off and he misses hitting the black completely - a 7 points foul. What would be expected to happen next?

end of frame player b wins frame by 3 points you can only score once off the black unless scores are level after the black is potted or you foul on the black

                    8. At the start of a game, Player A attempts to strike the edge of the pack of reds, and misses them all completely, awarding 4 points to Player B. What would be expected to happen next?

well they would called for a foul and a miss and player b could play from the position where the white comes to rest or make their opponet player from where the white has landed, or make them play from the d again but the ball would not be hand beacuse it as not entered a pocket and is not the break off shot, so they would have to play from the poisition the white was played from the break off shot

                    9. A player attempts to pot a red into the corner, but strikes it quite hard, and it jumps out of the jaws of the pocket, runs along the wooden edge of the table and drops into the middle pocket. What is the outcome?

1 Point this happen with Alan McManus at the crucible a few years ago

                    10. What is the highest possible break in snooker? That is, the score for one sequence of successful pots to clear the table in one visit?

155 which would involve 38 pots

hope you enjoy the answers i mysewlf enjoyed doing them for You hope to chat soon

                        • I have copied Mr Snooker's post for ease of editing - I have not copied his answers unless I agreed with them. Nice questions!

                          1. A player has potted a red, and on the next shot plays for a red, and pots it too. What is the outcome?

Depends what you mean by "on the next shot plays for ....". Do you mean (a) "on the next shot, pots a red"; or, (b) "on the next shot [a colour], plays for position on a red for the subsequent shot"?

                          (a) Foul 7
                          (b) perfectly valid - continues his break

                          2. A player attempts to pot a red which is next to the pink. The white ball strikes both at the same time and the red is potted. What is the outcome?

Foul 6, unless was on a free ball and had nominated pink.

Not a foul - poor referee has to replace everything to the best of her ability

                          5. With only the last 7 colours remaining, player A has fouled and left player B snookered on the yellow. So he nominates the blue as a free ball. After potting the blue, the white rolls into the yellow and knocks it in too. What is the outcome?

Last 7 colours? What game is this? But 2 points scored!

                          6. What is the highest number of points that can theoretically be scored in a single shot?

16 points - pot all 15 reds and a free ball

                          7. Just the final black ball remains to be potted (worth 7 points), and Player A who is 4 points ahead attempts it. However, his aim is off and he misses hitting the black completely - a 7 points foul. What would be expected to happen next?
end of frame player B wins frame by 3 points

                          8. At the start of a game, Player A attempts to strike the edge of the pack of reds, and misses them all completely, awarding 4 points to Player B. What would be expected to happen next?

foul and a miss. B can play or put A in again (from original position or from where balls landed)

                          9. A player attempts to pot a red into the corner, but strikes it quite hard, and it jumps out of the jaws of the pocket, runs along the wooden edge of the table and drops into the middle pocket. What is the outcome?

                          1 Point

                          10. What is the highest possible break in snooker? That is, the score for one sequence of successful pots to clear the table in one visit?

                          155
(I assume you don't mean where one player is 155 behind, comes to the table making a 155 break and then pots the respotted black. That would be 162, but is not one break - it is 1 break of 155 and then one of 7.)

                            • With regard the light falling on the table, would I be right in thinking that if both players agreed to a re-rack, then a re-rack could take place? Obviously if one player has a stronger position this is unlikely, but is that a potential solution?
