Was one (or both) of them an prototype robot? Seem to remember Steve Davis playing one with Ted Lowe doing commentary, would have been mid-80s.

Were they playng with a hard-boiled egg instead of a regulation cue ball? It wouldn't have rolled in a straight line & that's why it took so long.
