This would have been my answer, but surely he made a break higher than 100 in the year he made the quarter finals.

Since he is the only player to ever make a century in his debut frame at the crucible, I assume this is the answer required?
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

If so, this question is incorrect, as he made a 105 in 1998.....

      • No, Fergal O'Brien is not the correct answer. The player concerned never made a century at Sheffield.

            • Congratulations missneworleans - it was indeed Cliff Wilson, whose personal best Crucible break of 66 was made in his debut frame!

I don't think this has been posted yet, but if it has, oh well.

What links the following players -

Mark Allen, Ian McCullogh, Tony Drago, Ryan Day (twice), Stephen Hendry, Neil Robertson, Billy Snaddon, Stephen Maguire, Alan McManus, Stephen Lee, and Nobody? There are also 4 players missing, but 2 would give the question away, and the other 2 I couldn't find out, but if anyone gets the correct answer, I'm sure they can fill in the missing players. Also, I recommend 1/2 a point per correct answer, for correctly naming the appropriate years...

                  ROUND TWO HUNDRED AND NINETEEN

An old classic, don't think we've had it on this thread though. This question is worth 3 points in total.

Which two players were involved in the longest play on a single ball ever?

One bonus point will be awarded if you know during which tournament it happened and one bonus point if you know which ball it was they so thoroughly declined to pot.
I looked through about 50 pages, and this was never answered. I think someone got 1/2 a point for the yellow, and no-one ever answered the remaining part of the question. The answer has since been beaten, (whatever it was) with the following record for a professional match without a ball being potted -
29 Minutes, Mark Selby v. Anthony Hamilton. 2009 Welsh Open quarter final, frame 7.
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

I think the question refers to a color ball.....
Maybe it was between Steve Davis and Tony Meo in 1991...yellow ball....World Championship...24 minutes or so

                            • Being a bit naughty to not give it away, I mixed the order of the players up, so try to rearrange them into the correct order, (forget Doug mountjoy and Chris small for now) and start with - nobody....

                              • I can't believe nobody has even guessed at this one. I think I have stumped you all on this one.

To give you a clue, I'll put the players in the correct order -

First 2 withheld as it'll give it away, then -
Doug Mountjoy, Chris Small, No-one, Alan McManus, Billy Snaddon, John Higgins, Ian McCullough, Tony Drago, Steven Lee, Stephen Maguire, Neil Robertson, Stephen Hendry, Ryan Day, Mark Allen, Ryan Day again...

Someone should get it from that......
