  • The list sounds spot on, except that there hasn't been a £275000 or £300000 winner. The largest prize was £270000, won by Mark Williams - 2003 World Championship.
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

    • It sounds like combined prize-money (including the 147 prize) ?!

That would make Hendry the first £300,000+ prize, winning the 1995 world championship and making a maximum, the first year that the maximum prize was £147,000 (having been £100,000 for a few years before that).

        • Yep and also the name of Silvino Francisco doesn't fit the list.... It feels close tho....

              • Guess I was just lucky, as was Silvino..
Stumbled across the late Chris Turners site: http://www.cajt.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Records.html
                and there it was

                • I have a question then:
The number 63 is some kind of snooker record. What record is it and who has it?

If you also add the £16000 for the highest televised stages break to the £190000 for winning the tournament and the £147000 for the max, Hendry also set the records for first £325000, and first £350000 (total he won was £353000) at that tournament. Not bad for 2 weeks work...

Silvinho won the 1985 Dulux British open which I think was the first £50000 prize. He beat Coke (kirk) Stevens in the final when Stevens was powdered up. When he (Francisco) complained about it afterwards, the authorities punished Silvinho, but this was reversed when Stevens admitted his drug problem.

Of course, Silvinho went on to decide drugs were just not the best way to make money, and turned to the seriously lucrative business of match fixing..........

Yeah, give us a clue to what its about.... 63 could be anything.
