I started this question earlier on the bbc board but it's like a ghost town. I have decided to continue it here, in the hope of resolving it today.

John Parrott, Eddie Charlton and Steve Davis.

These 3 players have all done something at a particular stage of a particular tournament.

For a point, tell me
a)What it is they and only those three have done
and
b)Having sussed out what is unique to those three, tell me which one of them is the odd one out and why.

They have all suffered the worst ever result in different rounds. eg Charlton whitewash in 1990? in round 1 and Parrott losing 18-3 in the final?

And Steve Davis' 13-3 hammering at the hands of Doherty in '97. Could well be.

The odd one out could be Charlton. Parrott and Davis have both been on both ends of one sided matches, Charlton's only been on the receiving end?
