  • I think you're right, Mal!

    • Congratulations Mal. Every match in that round achieved a different scoreline.

It can't happen in the last 32 as there are more matches than possible outcomes.

It WILL happen in the final as there is only one match!

So here is the scoreboard after Round 54 (with 49 still to be complete):

        • Shall Ijust give the answer to 49 and claim the point?

          • I think you should give us the answer, but I'll reserve judgement on the point till I've seen the answer

            • (Starting to worry he gets his own question wrong)

So Johnny Cueless comes to the table and has a free ball.

He takes the yellow, He then pots yellow again as the nominated colour.

He's now on the red but misses it completely going into the yellow and potting it.

The balls are replaced and he repeats the feat another two times before the frame is forfeited and he has pot the yellow on five consecutive shots without any other ball moving.

(Did i contradict this at any time?)

              • Round 55 (or possibly replacement 49(:

There are only three players in the top 32 who are and only three outside the top 32 who are not.

2 of the 3 top 32 players who are, are Mark Selby and Mobert Milkins.

2 of the 3 players outside the top 32 who are not are Dave harold and Barry Pinches.

                What am I talking about?

                • Players younger than their ranking? The other player in the top 32 who is would be Ding, and the other player outside the top 32 who isnt would be White.

                        ROUND FIFTY-SEVEN

What statistic relating to crucible performances do Stephen Hendry, John Higgins and Matthew Stevens (and only them) have in common, and what is surprisingly unique about John Higgins' case?

                          • I know what's unique about Higgins's case - he's the only person who shares this statistic with Hendry and Stevens. Mind you, I didn't find that "surprisingly unique" - perhaps you're easily surprised, Mobert?

                              • In average they have "reached" at least QF level.

Saying if you devide the number of matches they've played at crucible with the number of years they've played there it will be at least 3.

John Higgins is unique because in his case the result is exactly 3.
