Well I know they have all/claimed to have, beaten Joe Davis, beyond that, I have no idea, though I suspect it has something to do with their last/only appearance at the crucible...

    • Not what I'm looking for Ginge. I doubt Fagan ever played Joe as he was only 13 when Joe retired.

You could also add Walter Donaldson to the list and no doubt one or two other who I am unaware of.

      • Oh yeah!

It's my work Christmas do tonight so I only have the one brain cell trying to think of an answer. The other 10 billion or so are being devoted to working out how to hold down 15 pints tonight and still turn up for work tomorrow!

Is it nothing to do with the WC's then?

Your predicament of 15 pints and work in the morning might well have EVERYTHING to do with a WC.

          • The answer connects several tournaments actually. I'm lucky my work xmas do is tomorrow, so I can have a lay in Saturday.

            • Hee hee, very true Statters!

Don't suppose Graham Miles has anything to do with it?

              • Nothing to do with our Graham.

                • Not sure then, can't think of a lot that would link Pat Houlihan with anything, given how briefly his star shone

                  • The tournament is different in the case of each man.

                    • If I said its to do with a venue, would that give it away?

                      • They have all won a tournament in Blackpool?

                        Comment

                        • I will give you that. Blackpool Tower Circus was the venue of their finest triumphs. Fred Davis won four or five of his World titles there, Pat Houlihan beat Spencer there 11-3 in the 1965 English Amateur final there and in 1977, inaugural UK Championships was played there and won by rookie pro Patsy Fagan.

                            • ROUND ONE HUNDRED AND TEN

What do Ray Reardon, Jimmy White and Ken Doherty have in common? and which other player also has this in common?

(They have this in common presuming I have my information correct )
You play a long slow deadweight red to a corner pocket. As it approaches the pocket, a kamikaze woodlouse crawls out from under the cushion and makes its way across the table, conflicting with the path of the red precisely at the point the red gets there. The red, needless to say, veers off course, and the future of the woodlouse is uncertain. - The Statman
