The only answer I can think of is the one Cessy gave as only the white and red would be involved on the billiards table.

Having said that, how much is a foul in billiards (I havent played in couple of years!)

Ok, at billiards, player plays a cannon and then knocks in his opponents white = 4 points.

The same stroke in snooker would be a 4 point foul as using two whites is cheating!!

The billiards player potted and went in-off red (6 points) and the snooker player, on pink, hit red first and pocketed both the red and the white (foul 6).

Alternatively, using yellow as billiards cue-ball, in billiards the player hits red then yellow and pots yellow (4 points) and the same scenario occurs in snooker (foul 4).
