Correct! First point to Lindea. Peter Mans, father of Perrie (who reached the 1978 world final). Peter entered the championship only once, 1950, when he lost to Canadian George Chenier in the quarter finals.

Sidney Smith of Doncaster, who reached two World finals, 1938 and 1939. He also compiled the first official total clearance, 133, at Thurstons Hall, London, in the 1936 Daily Mail Gold Cup against Tom Newman.

                              • Wow! Good shot chasmmi! Con Stanbury is correct also.

The hard hitting Canadian who first entered the Championship in 1935. Tragically, Stanbury eventually had to have both legs amputated. He spent the last thirty years of his life in London, mostly as a coach, until his death in 1975.
