Interesting about Sydney Lee's spelling. I am sure you are right, Cyril, as his name is always cited as in the Australian city – but I have a book with a photo of a scoreboard on which his name is spelt 'Sidney'.

I have a book written by Sydney Lee, which I would trust gives the correct spelling. A quaint little paperback instructional book, mainly on billiards. No date given but I would guess either just before or just after WWII.
