I don't know who he beat to start the sequence, nor who he beat at the end.
But I do remember who beat him to put an end to the sequence. It was Fergal O'Brien in the British Open (or perhaps the Grand Prix but I think it was the British Open) in the autumn of 2004. Was it 5-3? -
