  • Alex v anne

Alex Higgins, the combative, combustible former world champion, may finally have met his match.

The 'Hurricane' will face Anne Robinson on BBC1's Weakest Link at 5.50pm this coming Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how this angry, argumentative character fares.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how Higgins does.

I don't think Alex Higgins would last long on the weakest link, lets hope he doesn't use any bad language. Looking forward to seeing the reasons for why people would want to vote him off.

No fear of Alex using any bad language as it will be edited out before it's transmitted. I think Alex will be the perfect gent on the show & will do reasonably well...here's hoping anyway.

        oh dear !

Alex YOU are the weakest link.

Thanks to Gazza for being about the only one not voting for Alex after his embarrasing blunder.

In case anyone didn't get a chance to see it, I didn't expect Alex to go off so early:

very very sad ... Alex has been through a lot in his life - some of his making and some not ...

the only good news is presumably he was well paid for appearing on the show ...

it's the first time I've seen the Weakest Link in many years - Anne Robinson used to be really good when she took over from her father (or was it uncle) on points of view ...

but now she is terrible ... and why does the lighting/background music remind me of Who Want's to be a Millionnaire ...

if the BBC want a real winner, I'd certainly be happy to watch Mz Robinson in the stocks and everyone throwing rotten tomatoes at her ...

A number of people found my blog tonight by typing in things like "Alex Higgins health" into search engines, obviously some people hadn't seen him for a while.
