You really are totally clueless, aren't you ? If you can't see the added bonus that 6-reds gives to Snooker, then you may as well be stuck in a smoke-filled room, sipping on lager-tops and knocking in 70 breaks.

Snooker NEEDS to attract fans / players / SPONSORS whichever way it can. Did you not notice that 36 TOP PROS played in Furth ? An event that included speed-snooker ? As well as various other facets of the game we don't normally see ? That number would have been 86 Pros if there was space for them all. It's all about diversification. A move away from the centrally accepted norm. But guess what ? Snooker, in it's purest form, will ALWAYS be king.

Thank God people like you are not in control of Snooker. Assuming you're not Sir Rodney et al via nom de plume ...

well I watched the Sangsom 6 red final and I thoroughly enjoyed it ... obviously it's different from 15 red but it's equally entertaining ... certainly that match was ...

that final was between two pro's (White and Hawkins) and a good match it was ... best of 15 frames and took not far off 4hrs ... a good battle with a lot more tactical play than I was expecting ...

so don't knock it just because it's different ... it is clearly very TV friendly - frames last around 10 mins on average so TV companies have a much clearer idea of when they can do advert breaks ... it looks like good news to me - not to replace full snooker but to widen it's popularity ...

btw ... I got to watch that game with huge thanks to Darrus who recorded it and posted it on BitTorrent ... I do still have it so if anyone wants to watch it, I'll try to find the tracker for you and edit this post (I don't often run BitTorrent so you may need to remind me to start it so you can download it) ...

oops sorry April, I did not realise that ... particularly as I'm only re-posting a link the great Darrus posted a while back ... she having kindly recorded the White/Hawkins final and made it available for all of us to enjoy ...

but I apologise ... mods, please feel free to delete my link or ask me to and I'll be happy to ...

only one teensy-weensy little question ... where are the rules of the forum ... guess I must be being even dumber than usual cos I can't immediately find them ... I've looked at the main nav and can't find them ... so I looked at the "newbies" forum thinking they must be sticky right at the top ... but I still couldn't find them ...

my apologies ... I guess I must be dumb, blind, stupid ... at least two of those and most likely all three
