Yeh people should be looking to help Gray not condemn him. I really hope this wakes David up and you never know, it could be the best thing that ever happens to him. I really hope so. As you will know from my profile picture I am a big Casper fan.
but he's not a normal person drunk on holiday, he's snooker pro, walking commercial for the sport, role model for kids who want to become pro's... nice picture he's sending from his holiday to the sport...
Even the highest profile snooker players are normal persons and can go off the rail sometimes. I'm sick and tired about the role model rant. Many players can account as good role models in some aspects of their life and not so much in others. They're just human and I personally think kids should learn about being open and understanding, appreciating the good in people and sometimes taking the bad with it also. Not that everything has to be accepted of course.
Having said that I hope David gets help and makes the most of that help because ... I'm afraid this is not about "sometimes".
Hang on a minute he hasn't brought the game into disrepute. He's made himself look like a binge drinking chav but his behaviour is in no way connected to his conduct as a snooker player. It's possible he's just got a bit wrecked on his holiday which is no great sin, we should probably give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I agree. And, it sounds like Gray should be given the chance to explain what happened. If WPSA wants to go on record and actually help him, its a nice gesture, but only if the player is willing.
Sure, its embarassing but "disrepute" for the sport should be better evaluated.
I wonder why it was recorded in the first place. And I wonder why anyone would like to spread it on youtube or elsewhere.
David Gray might be facing some personal problems but he's still entitled his privacy and if I was in his shoes I'd look into the possibility to sue the one(s) who don't respect it.
I'm wondering why noone from the hospital personnel objected to having the patient and the staff filmed. Actually, I'm wondering why one of the cameramans is from a hospital personnel.
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman 2009 Grand Prix Fantasy Game winner

I agree with that. It seems very strange that that video hit the internet so fast. You shouldn't be allowed to film in a hospital! It's really strange...
