Ronnie O'Sullivan will start the defence of his Masters title against Neil Robertson, who last week won the Grand Prix in Glasgow.

O'Sullivan, a four times Masters champion, has been handed one of the toughest possible first round draws for the event, which kicks off at Wembley Arena on January 10.

World champion John Higgins faces Mark Allen while six times Masters winner Stephen Hendry tackles world no.3 Shaun Murphy. Mark Selby meets Ding Junhui.

robbo was 9th in last years rankings so gets ronnie

anyway i think its a good draw and cant wait for the match

No if it wasn't randomised Ronnie should get 16 being the defending champion he should get the lowest ranked in the draw. Anyway.

yeah, should... and might get the crowds down afterwards :/
that draw indeed must be random, someone who cares about the crowds would not choose it so I guess.

ronnie is getting all the *luck* this year with 2nd random draw already - he got pretty much the hardest draw in GP round 2 as well (1st GP stage where it was possible to meet another top 16 player, he got provisional #1), now gets rank 9 out of possible 9-16.
