  • Ssb - cope seeded through to shanghai

Jamie Cope has been seeded through to the final stages of the Shanghai Masters in place of the suspended John Higgins.

Cope is ranked 17th in the world. Mike Dunn, as world no.33, will be seeded through to the final qualifying round.

David Douglas has submitted a report on behalf of the WPBSA to Sports Resolutions UK, who will form a verdict based on their evidence and that of Higgins.

That verdict is expected within the next month but by then the closing date for entries to the World Open will also have passed so Higgins will be unable to play in that, even if he is cleared.

Liu Song has been given a discretionary place on the main tour to make up the 96th player in the season's first two ranking events.

Why is it a disgrace Matoski ? . The whole situation is going through what seems to be a fair and legal process which is something that probably would not have happened under the old regime.
I do not want Higgins to be Guilty, purely for the reasons that it damages the game if he is but this process is the fairest way that I can see to ascertain the truth.:snooker:

It isn't a disgrace mate. It's the correct thing to do? Higgins isn't allowed to play. Do you think they should play the event with 15 seeds? No, they can't.

When is the draw made for this event?

That a decision one way or other should have been reached by now surely. They are probably not going to get any more "evidence" than what they have already. If there is a shred of doubt then surely Higgins is innocent - perhaps punish him somehow for putting the game into disrepute - but for Gods sake make a judgement so he can continue his career or not!!

                  Spot on!
It took almost three months now. Release the man from the accusations, and let him play the rankers for Christ sake!

Hearn is now expecting them to reach the verdict by the end of August... It's dragging on.
