  • Ssb - alex higgins dies: That break

Among the many things that will be said about Alex Higgins, many good and many bad, he was responsible for one of snooker's most memorable moments, which is worth reflecting on tonight.

It was magical stuff - pure Alex Higgins, fantastic shot-making and incredible intensity.

I also loved the commentary of another one of snooker's lost greats John Spencer. His wavering, edgy commentary and feel for the tension of the moment was perfect. And he was spot on in saying '...a lot of courage Alex has got'. He was fearless at the table.

Pure Alex Higgins, fast, great all around play. He's going to be terribly missed by everyone involved with snooker.
