  • Ssb - higgins 'admits match fixing'

Sky Sports News are reporting that John Higgins and Pat Mooney have admitted match fixing charges at the tribunal today.

I have no independent verification of this and Sky have not disclosed their source.

    More as I get it...

Just heard this on the radio. I wonder why they're coming clean now. Has a deal been struck for a lighter punishment?

Sky News had reported on Tuesday that Higgins, 35, and co-accused former manager Pat Mooney had admitted the charges.

However the Scot's spokesman Jim Cassidy responded by saying: "The tribunal has just started. John Higgins is 100 per cent innocent of any aspect of match-fixing."

Soon after Sky removed the story from their website and later said the duo had simply admitted going along with the plot because they felt scared, fearing the presence of the "Russian mafia" - a claim they also made some time ago.
